Goodbye, June. Hello, July. I'll just pretend like I'm ready for you.
I signed up for an online fitness challenge: 3000 in 35.
Yes, I really plan to do 3000 ab exercises in 35 days, between July 1 and August 5. Sounds daunting, doesn't it? But it really just comes out to 100 exercises a day, and even lets me have 5 rest days (or 10 "half days").
100 exercises, that's just 10 crunches, 10 oblique crunches left, 10 oblique crunches right, 20 bike crunches, and a repeat of this set. Easy-peasy.
Ashley, the hostess of this challenge, has promised to suggest different exercises, and I downloaded two free apps to my iPhone: Ab Workouts Free and Workout Trainer, which should see me nicely through the first week at the very least. And my personal trainers also know that I will be doing this; I am sure they'll have some choice morsels in store for me. I am also looking forward to the next Yogalates class, where the "lates" part is always abs exercises. I've never counted them before. I'd say they add up to at least 200, but I'll let you know for sure.
Two of my Health Month buddies have also signed up for this challenge, which will make it extra nice and supportive. And more fun. You know, shared pain and all that ...
Ashley wanted to know what everybody's favorite ab exercise was. Mine I think is the plank pose. (Note to self: there's more abs exercises at this link.)
