... it's Friday, I'm in love!
I flew into Austin yesterday, spent a pleasantly leisurely evening with my hosts Jeff and Barbara and Ellen, drinking beer and eating garlic bread and sausage on their porch, slept like a log under the heavy covers in the sea blue and brown guest room, and am getting my bearings for SXSW today. Had a good lunch at Iron Works, stood in line and another line and another line (it wasn't bad, they all moved quickly) to get badged and shwagged. I received two big canvas totes full of magazines and coupons and clever Austin info, discarded half the paper and tshatshkes including the nicotine gel that you can rub on your hand when you crave a cigarette. Took myself to Guëro's for a potent margarita and perusal of the prorgams programs, and now I am lazily sunk into a big leather chair at a coffee shop, drinking latte, listening to The Cure, and blogging like the bleeding-heart liberal that I am.
I really am in love with Austin. Not sure if I could take the summers, but spring time here is perfect. A whole week of geekery and film and hanging out with friends, yayyyy!
Sigh. Wish I could be there. I have fond memories of hanging with you last year. Remember when we took pictures of each other taking pictures of each other? Also, all those margaritas. Those free margaritas. Along with the free swag.
Those were the days, those wonderful Austin days, those wild Austin nights.
Muchos besos!

Aaaaah yes, I wish you could be here too! I went to the BlogHer party, and sat next to Sarah, who adopted me as her mom, and we thought happy thoughts of Woolfcamp, where we met.
Mil besos right backatcha!
