Oh my Gawd, Peeps season is upon us ... I foresee sugar overload ... and there is a discussion about whether to eat them "fresh" or "stale/ripened/crunchy" in the comments for the photo [click on the photo to get there].
Moi, I stand firmly in Crunchy Camp. How about you?

Ohh, that's a tough one. I like them both ways, but lately I've been leaning on the fresh side!

For big fun, try exploding them in the microwave!
(Sorry, Elke. My cold medicine is talking.)

Crunchy of course!

I don't think that you're actually supposed to EAT them - you're supposed to make them joust!

Grace, honey, you better be careful - cold medicine and peeps is a potent combination! Make sure you don't overdose!

I like 'em fresh, but even better than eating peeps is making 'em joust in the microwave. Good to see peep jousting has already been mentioned. :)

I prefer them as decoration.
But Cadbury Cream Eggs... now that's a different story.

fresh - crunchy - I eat them all which then creates my very own little problem right on my hips.

Who had to go and mention Cadbury's Cream Eggs? Now I'm going to crave them incessantly.

For the record: I have some Peeps sitting unwrapped in a drawer. Working on getting them stale enough to be good.

Stuff a large green pepper with peeps.
Shred one peep with a teaspoon of pakrika or turmeric.
Top with shredded peep, keeping just below top.
Replace the stem/lid so no peeps show.
Place on a large plate.
Ask a friend to microwave it for you. Tell them it's rice.
