The Moveon.org team says:
"Over the next two weeks, in hundreds of cities and towns, thousands of us will be handing out fact sheets about the war, talking to people in our communities and giving them a chance to get involved in future activities. Enter your zip code to see a list of meet-ups in your area and join the effort.
The next few Web pages will connect you with other people in your area who want to do this too. MoveOn volunteers have posted times and places for leafleting "meet-ups". Sign up to go along on one or more of these leafleting missions. Or post your own time and place and others will sign up to come along on yours. Bring friends, or come alone and make some new friends. Many groups are getting together before or after leafleting for coffee or lunch.
This is the first time MoveOn (or anyone else, as far as we know) has ever done this. We believe we can have a big impact by putting the facts directly into the hands of hundreds of thousands of people -- can we reach a million? Whatever we accomplish in the next couple weeks, we'll do many times bigger in 2004. Whether or not we can prevent a war in the days ahead, we know that if we start planning and working now we can prevent another terrifying four years of a Bush presidency."
If you'd like to get information, join the leafletters, or just view the leaflets, you can do all that right here.
(And take a moment to read Senator Robert Byrd's speech - just scroll down to the bottom half of the page - I think he makes a lot of good points.)
