6:01am: Blogathon, It's A Wrap!

Let's see my stats:
- 51 posts I wrote up
- 57 comments during Blogathon
- 599 page views (my daily average is 111)
- 14 sponsors who donated a total of $210 for Heifer International - and still it's not too late to pledge a donation (just see the links in the right column).

Blogathon stats:
- 259 bloggers were signed up, 219 finished the Blogathon successfully
- 1794 sponsors pledged donations of $55,592.47

Thank you everybody! I'm going to crawl into bed now, to sleep for a few hours, perchance to dream of heifers.

The End of the 2005 Blogathon. And here's the road ahead (this is Saddle Road, on the Big Island of Hawaii; straddling the flanks of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa; connecting the west and east coasts of the island) - go on then!

Once more back into the night. This one is never really dark, permated by colored neon lights forever. Vegas! Vegas, baby! Where all the beautiful babies are!

Hey, we're almost done 'thonning. How'd that happen? Oh right ... just like last time: we keep blogging the time away, we click our ruby-red heels together, we blink twice and shake a little fairy dust over the virtual world, and presto-change-o, 24 hours have come and gone ...

I look at this picture, and it takes me right back to Anguilla, to Holly and Sean's wedding. They got married at stunning Cap Juluca, and most of us stayed at close-by hotels. Mahesh had rented a house for five of us, and these feet, left to right, belong to Hugh, Mahesh, and me.
The hillls in the background are part of the neighboring island, St. Maarten, easily seen from our vantage point.

We spent a lot of time on this porch. Whoever got up first in the morning, made a pot of coffee, and then we all congegrated on the porch with our feet up. That was a wonderful week. I'd gladly let myself be dragged back to Anguilla.

It's still dark outside. You can see from the lights at the Boardwalk that it's foggy over there (normal for this time of year - it's foggy in the winter and summer, and clear in the spring and fall). The fog burns off in the late mornings, and returns mid-afternoon. This photo by the Lighthouse was taken in the late afternoon - if I recall correctly, that was the afternoon we went to the Well Within and then to Soif, and after that we took the sightseeing route home - Lighthouse, West Cliff Drive, East Cliff Drive, 41st Avenue, and back on Highway One.
