Nobody's In Love This Year

Let's see what I can come up with if I follow the Year-in-Review Meme like Marjorie in Qatar did, and post the first sentence or two from the first post I wrote each month in 2006:

January: Woke Up Laughing ... No, I didn't, not really.

February: I had to look up the meaning of "sacerdotal", but I got it, I totally did.

March: Mary recounts an interview and asks, How would you answer the question, "Why do you write?"

April: I didn't get up until 10:30 this morning, which turned out to be 11:30, actually, because The Man stole an hour from me last night.

May: I just want to join the chorus of people applauding Stephen Colbert for his brass balls. Check out the video of him "celebrating" President Bush at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

June: If you're wondering what I've been up to (and even if you aren't), all kinds of things.

July: I am shocked. Strolled around the corner to Peet's to drink a cup of coffee and peruse the daily paper, and find this on the sports page: Doping scandal rocks Tour de France.

August: Reading a review of a recent Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young concert in Southern California, I was reminded of how much I used to like the Deja Vu album.

September: I was going to write up my take on Rumsfeld's "fascism" speech, but I cracked up about Google's helpful suggestion.

October: It's October 1st, the site relaunched, and we're ready to go.

November: Yes, you already know what I'm going to say. It's National Novel Writing Month again, FINALLY!

December: With Two Cats In The Yard ... or three in the house.
