That was SWEET! I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Sunday, and oh. Mi. GAAAAWD! was it great! I really loved it, and will go see it again on Friday, together with Dita, who has also already seen it and can't wait for a second helping.
Johnny Depp does a zanily groovy turn as Willy Wonka, Tim Burton puts the most beautiful images together (I loved the pink boat! True to the book, and even better!), Danny Elfman adds great music to Roald Dahl's lyrics, and the Oompa Loompas were beyond brilliant. They are still gyrating to disco beats in my head.
Oh yeah, and the 2001 reference was a piece of cinematic greatness, in my humble opinion.
Can't wait till Friday!
I liked how the song extolling his greatness also mentioned his modesty :-).

Yeah, I loved the songs and the music. This was Burton and Elfman at their best. And the child actors were all excellent, which is a rarity to see.

Man, this movie was EXCELLENT
I just went on a website that was totally bad mouthing it.. I just dunno how you can't like it when you put together all the humourous scenes.
Spesh loved the blowing up puppets ^___^
