Watched the Oscars tonight, and had declared I would pause on all closeups of Clive Owen, but there weren't any. Very disappointing. I don't really have strong opinions on who should win (especially since I usually haven't seen all the nominated films), but I had fully expected Aviator to win best picture, as predicted by Buzz, and Martin Scorsese to win best director.
Here are the awards I would have given:
Best dressed: Beyoncé, in all her different fabulous outfits. Alright, she had an advantage with all her dress changes, so let's break it out by colors:
Best in blue: Kate Winslet. And Salma Hayek.
Best in red: Sandra Oh. And Emmy Rossum.
Best in yellow: Cate Blanchett
Best in white: Sophie Onokedo
Best in taupe, gray, silver, bronze, metallic shades: nobody.
Best cleavage: Julia Roberts
Sweetest smile: tie between Emmy Rossum and Catalina Sandino Moreno
Best music: Yo-Yo Ma playing Bach
Most missed: Javier Bardem
Best dimples: Sophie Onokedo
Best moment: Morgan Freeman sitting in the audience with his Oscar, winking at the camera
Best acceptance speech: Jorge Drexler, who simply sang part of his winning song, Al Otro Lado del Rio
Best commercial: the Stayin' Alive Pepsi spot. Cracked. Me. Up.
