Thursday's movie was Beyond The Sea, Kevin Spacey's biopic about Bobby Darin. I didn't realize Spacey was such a good singer. Didn't really buy him as a twentysomething man, but all in all, it wasn't bad.
My biggest disappointment came afterwards, actually: "Beyond The Sea", one of Darin's hits, is the English version of Charles Trenet's "La mer", which I like a lot. They actually played a few bars of the Trenet version during the movie, which pleased me immensely. Of course, geek that I am, I checked out the iTunes Music Store when I got home, and found that the soundtrack is indeed available - but it only has Kevin Spacey numbers, not the Charles Trenet version. Snivel. Adding insult to injury, the French iTunes Music Store has seven different versions of Charles Trenet singing "La mer". Boohoo.
